If you’re planning a career in medicine, USF’s Pre-Medical Biology program will give you a distinct advantage: the blend of relevant academics and real-world experience will make you a strong candidate for medical school. USF graduates are regularly accepted into top medical schools.
Our Pre-Medical curriculum provides a solid academic foundation in biology, chemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry, anatomy, physics, and biochemistry — the courses medical schools look for in candidates.
Your study and exploration of human health will move out of the classroom and into the world as you develop hands-on experience and connect with working professionals.
Work in new and updated labs!
Intern with local physicians: Because of USF’s long-standing affiliation with hospitals and local healthcare organizations, we secure quality internship experiences for our students.
Complete a Clinical Experience: Medical schools seek applicants with compassion and experience. You can complete a summer internship or a medical mission trip, like USF’s annual trip to Haiti.
Students enrolled in our Primary Health Care in a Developing Country course travel to Haiti with USF professors and alumni physicians. There, they experience the practice of medicine in a developing country, as well as work in a hospital, orphanage, and other settings with professionals from various humanitarian organizations.
Your pre-medical advisor will work with you to:
